Course
Within the borders of the rushing River Mersey and a field of horses lies the treasured, 9-hole, Ashton-on-Mersey golf course.
Stand on the recently constructed, elevated 13th hole and before you stretches a par-3 that is challenging, intimidating and attractive, all 215 yards of it. It could be Ashton’s signature hole.
The strength of the course is its immaculate condition, nurtured by an enthusiastic team who ensure verdant fairways and generally flawless, quick greens. But beware the brook that comes into play on five holes.
Playing 18 holes, with some alternative tees, the course runs to 6,180 yards of pleasantly-tough, easy-walking terrain.
